Here is the sign I made for my Halloween decorated yard.
The sign itself is made from scrap lumber I had lying around. The lantern is actually an electric porch light that I converted into an oil lamp. The sign post is made from conduit, but I purchased the scrolls and finials precast, then brazed them on.
A note on choosing the name: The challenge of naming the "cemetery" became a family decision. I preferred "Sentinel Hill" in homage to Lovecraft's "Dunwich Horror". My wife wanted "Haddonfield" in reference to John Carpenter's "Halloween". My eldest chose "Azrael's Gate" (pretty excellent suggestion, eh?) while the youngest liked "Dark Haven". Since we were nowhere close to a consensus, we started combining words like; dark, black, silent, wood, hill, glen, etc and came up with Blackwood. Houseful of geeks!!
